Who we are
This website (rytenlab.com) is run by the Ryten Lab. The organisation responsible for the personal data described on this page (the "data controller").
What this website collects
1. Technical information when you visit
Like most websites, the server and any hosting or proxy services we use may record standard technical information when you request a page, such as your IP address, the page requested, the date and time, and your browser type. We use this to keep the site running and secure.
2. Cookies
This website uses the following cookies:
-
Cookie consent cookie (
.AspNet.Consent): remembers that you accepted cookies, so we do not ask you again. This cookie is only set when you click Accept on the cookie banner. -
Google Analytics cookies (typically
_gaand_ga_followed by an identifier): used to count visits and understand how the site is used. These are only set if you click Accept on the cookie banner.
If you do not accept, Google Analytics is not loaded and its cookies are not set. To change your choice, delete this site's cookies in your browser settings. The cookie banner will then appear again.
3. Google Analytics
If you accept cookies, information about your visit (such as the pages you view and your approximate location) is sent to Google, which provides the analytics service. We use this information only to understand how the site is used. Google's own privacy information is available at policies.google.com/privacy.
4. Contacting us
This website has no contact forms. Email links open your own email program, and we only receive what you choose to send us. We use it only to reply to you.
5. Information about team members
The Team, Former Members and Furry Members pages show information about members of the lab, such as name, role, photograph, research interests, biography and links to their professional profiles. For current members, a work email address is also shown.
6. Links to other websites
This website links to external sites (for example publishers, GitHub, ResearchGate and Docker Hub). We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you have the right to ask us for access to the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to its use, and to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk if you are unhappy with how we have handled your data.
Changes to this policy
We may update this page from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
